Bagaduce Chorale to visit MDI

BAR HARBOR — The Bagaduce Chorale will perform its holiday concert at the Mount Desert Island High School auditorium on Sunday, Dec. 13, at 3 p.m.

Chorale Director Bronwyn Kortge said this concert will be “a joyous musical celebration of the life of Mary Cheyney Gould,” the founder and longtime director of the Bagaduce Chorale, who passed away on Nov. 1.

Featured works will be “Ring Out Wild Bells” by Jonathan Dove, “Luminous Night of the Soul” by Ola Gjeilo and “Fantasia on Christmas Carols” by Vaughn Williams. Other selections will include arrangements of traditional carols and a carol sing-along. A double string quartet will be featured on many of the works, along with guest accompanist Douglas Beck on the keyboards.

General admission tickets can be purchased at Fairwinds Florist in Blue Hill and at the door of all performances. Arrive early to ensure seating. The suggested donation is $15, $20 for prime front seating. Visit bagaducechorale.org and like the group on Facebook.
