Library to show Diedricksen’s work

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Nancy Diedricksen’s striking and soulful art will grace the walls of the Southwest Harbor Public Library through the end of December.

Diedricksen’s show features new work, focused mainly on portraiture, both human and canine, as well as some older pieces. Her art emphasizes the light of the soul; a connection she feels when painting. Some of her work includes local Mount Desert Island people. All of her paintings are in oil on canvas or panel, although there are a few photographs on canvas included in the show. Most of the art is for sale, and commissioned pieces are welcomed.

A public artist’s reception with light refreshments will be held Thursday, Dec. 8, from 5:30-7 p.m. Call the library at 244-7065.
