Library to hold Mother’s Day sale

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The Southwest Harbor Public Library will hold its annual Mother’s Day sale from Saturday, May 6, through Saturday, May 13.

Nice, no-longer-needed gift items can be turned into funding for the library’s innovative children’s programs, which support early literacy. This fundraiser supports programs like the library’s Pumpkin Festival, Halloween book giveaway, Summer Reading Showtime, Summer Story Camp, Family Concert Series and other fun children’s programs.

Fresh bread will arrive at 9 a.m. Monday-Friday. On Saturday, May 13, from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m., the sale will end with live music, a bake sale, tea and coffee, and gift-making for kids. The library is looking for items mothers might like: jewelry, scarves, china, knick-knacks, lotions and other little gift items. The library also is looking for baked goods and volunteers to help with the sale, before, during and after.

Call the library at 244-7065.
