ELLSWORTH — “La La Land,” starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, will be shown at The Grand on Tuesday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. A special closed-captioned matinee screening of the film will take place on Wednesday, May 3, at 1 p.m.
This Oscar-nominated modern musical was written and directed by the Oscar winner Damien Chazelle (“Whiplash”) and tells the story of Mia [Stone, who won a Best Actress Oscar for her performance], an aspiring actress, and Sebastian [Ryan Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, the film explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.
General admission tickets cost $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and students, and $6 for Grand members. Matinee tickets cost $6.
