Island Story Slam returns to The Criterion

BAR HARBOR — The Island Story Slam will take place at The Criterion Theatre on Saturday, March 10, at 8 p.m. with the theme “off-season.”

This local take on the model popularized by the Moth Podcast features Downeast residents telling their best stories live on stage. Stories will run the gamut from absurd to inspirational, and they’ll all be true.

Anyone with an off-season story to tell should participate in one of the two live lead-up events — one at College of the Atlantic and one at the Southwest Harbor Public Library — to determine the finalists. Email [email protected]

Visit the Island Story Slam Facebook event page for more details. All finalists will get to perform on the Criterion stage, and the story slam champion will receive a cash prize.

All tickets for the slam cost $15. Balcony seats are by reservation, orchestra tickets are general admission. Visit criteriontheatre.org.

The 1932 Criterion Theatre is Bar Harbor’s nonprofit historic performing arts and movie house.
