‘Hungry for Health’ to kick off

ELLSWORTH — Healthy Acadia and the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center are kicking off the 2017 “Hungry for Health” campaign to “Challenge Cancer Downeast” at Pat’s Pizza on Wednesday, April 5, from 5-8 p.m.

Healthy Acadia staff and volunteers will host, bus and serve dinner for Pat’s Pizza diners throughout the evening. All tips will go to fund needed cancer prevention, education and treatment services. Ellsworth Pat’s Pizza is located at 396 High St.

“Sadly, cancer is the leading cause of death in Maine, and one in four individuals receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime,” said Shoshona Smith, Healthy Acadia’s development coordinator.

“Our work is to bring cancer prevention, education and treatment resources to Hancock and Washington counties, both reducing the likelihood of a cancer diagnosis for you or a loved one and providing caring, effective support for individuals facing cancer.”
