Holiday craft season opens



Saturday, Nov. 19

ELLSWORTH — St. Dunstan’s Holiday Food and Craft Sale will be held at the church, 134 State St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 20

BAR HARBOR — A Holiday Farmer’s Market and Craft Fair will take place in the MDI Regional High School cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Roughly 30 farmers, bakers, artists, crafters, students, parents and teachers are involved. Shoppers can buy organic blueberries, local cheeses, pies, meat, bread, roasted coffee, apple cider, vegetables, jam, hot cocoa mix, fudge, holiday wreaths, unique and affordable hand-made ornaments, pottery, blown glass, felted mittens, jewelry, wooden crafts, mittens, handmade baby gifts, wreaths, original art, note cards, herbal medicines and more.

Local artists and crafters include Jennifer Judd-McGee, Julie Havener, Jon Ho, Roberta Sprague, Linda Rowell-Kelley, Kreg McCune, Mary Swift, Claire Picard, Lilea Simis, Andrea Gerrish and others. Local farms and food producers include Beech Hill Farm, Brown Family Farm, Muellers Fruit Farm, MDI Dairy, Crooked Porch Coffee and a prepared lunch from Mother’s Kitchen.

The Farmer’s Market and Craft Fair is a fundraiser for the April 2016 service learning student trip to Guatemala. Call Jen at 807-1313.
