ELLSWORTH — Jude Johnstone will play first in a series of three concerts at The Grand on Friday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m.

She will brings back to her hometown “her gift for emotional excavation and her love of sophisticated songcraft,” said a press release. She is touring in support of her sixth album, “Shatter,” released by BoJak Records, her own label. General admission tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

Jonathan Richman and drummer Tommy Larkins will play on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m. In the early 1970s, Richman formed the band The Modern Lovers, but he has been playing music, recording and touring for most of his life. The Empty Pockets will play a “Holiday Wonderland Concert” on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. “The Empty Pockets’ often cerebral and sometimes playful indie rock sound is built upon a strong foundation of the timeless Americana, Blues and Motown Soul that came before them,” said a press release. “An old-school sensibility showcased by multiple lead singers, rich harmonies and skilled instrumentalists sets ‘bandmates Josh Solomon, Erika Brett, Nate Bellon and Danny Rosenthal, members of polished yet rootsy Chicago outfit Empty Pockets,’ apart,” said “Rolling Stone.” General admission tickets cost $20.
