Funk, hip-hop jazz ensemble comes to COA

BAR HARBOR — Boston funk/hip-hop/jazz ensemble Big Ol’ Dirty Bucket is set to return to College of the Atlantic on Saturday, Jan. 12 for a night of dancing, jamming and fun.

The show starts at 8 p.m. in the Gates Center. Admission is $10 for the general public.

Debuting in 2009, Big Ol’ Dirty Bucket is led by the singer who goes by the single name Kobi, emcee Micah Casey and guitar slinger/vocalist Ryan Green. Other members include drummer Dave Share, bassist Joe Cesarz, percussionist Jim Schunemann, keyboard player Scotty King, saxophonist Matt Oliphant, trombonist Rich Houghton and trumpeter Bryan McCulloch.

Big Ol’ Dirty Bucket has toured throughout New England, appearing with artists including George Clinton and The 420 Funk Mob.

Their single “You make me feel (like dancin’),” which was released on the band’s self-titled 2009 debut album, was named one of the top 100 songs of 2012 by The Boston Globe.
