Food series continues with foraging talk



BAR HARBOR — Terry Anya Hayes will speak about foraging and what to do with wild edibles at the Jesup Memorial Library on Wednesday, May 23, at 7 p.m.

Hayes’ presentation, “Where the Wild Things Are (and What To Do When You Find Them),” is the second talk in a library series about food. She will teach attendees where to find and how to harvest roots, shoots, leaves, flowers and fungi, as well as how to add them to meals and use them to relieve some of the minor bumps and bruises of life.

Hayes leads walks, workshops and foraging weekends throughout the Northeast and beyond. She is a writer, herbalist, wild foods educator and a past president of the New York Mycological Society.
