Films are talk topic



BAR HARBOR — Filmmaker Olympia Stone is set to join College of the Atlantic professor Catherine Clinger for a “Coffee and Conversation” event Tuesday, July 17, at 9 a.m. at COA’s Gates Auditorium.

Stone’s production company, Floating Stone Productions, is based in Chapel Hill, N.C. She will show clips from her latest film, “Double Take: The Art of Elizabeth King” about the American sculptor. Her current project is a documentary about the photorealist painter Richard Estes.

The talk is part of the “Best of Acadia” talk series presented by COA and Acadia Senior College. In this year’s series, which begins Monday, July 16, distinguished educators will address issues such as why art should matter, preparing students to address complex global matters and re-shaping higher education.
