BAR HARBOR — The documentary film “The Life and Gardens of Beatrix Farrand” is now being made available for screenings or purchase on DVD by the Beatrix Farrand Society.

The film comes from the mind of Karyl Evans, a six-time Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and a Yale Fellow.

Her film is the first documentary ever produced about the life and gardens of Beatrix Farrand. In the film, Evans interviews Beatrix Farrand scholars and uses never-before-seen archival materials and recent photographs of over 60 Beatrix Farrand-related sites, as well as narration to tell the compelling story of Farrand’s impressive 50-year career as a landscape architect.

The Beatrix Farrand Society is located at 1029 Route 3 in Bar Harbor in the former Garland Farm. Call 288-0237.
