Experience the nature of Halloween

BAR HARBOR — The Nature of Halloween, an evening of fun and learning for all ages, will take place at College of the Atlantic’s George B. Dorr Museum of Natural History on Friday, Oct. 21, from 5-8 p.m.

The Dorr museum, in conjunction with Acadia National Park, will be haunted with all sorts of creepy exhibits and activities. Visitors can sample crunchy treats made from real insects, learn about nocturnal creatures from Acadia rangers and touch bones from the museum’s collection. Special guests include friends from the Maine Discovery Museum with their “Lotions, Potions and Scientific Notions” exhibit and live owls from Birdsacre at Stanwood Wildlife Sanctuary.

This spooky evening of fun and learning is suitable for all ages, and costumes are welcome. Admission is by donation. Contact the museum at 288-5395 or email [email protected].
