David Mallett to perform at The Grand

ELLSWORTH — Singer-songwriter David Mallett will perform at The Grand Auditorium on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m.

A true American folk singer, Mallet has recorded 14 albums, had several hundred covers of his songs, including the American folk classic “Garden Song,” and performed in clubs, concert halls and festivals across the U.S., Canada and Europe in his four-decade career.

Known for his carefully written, poetic offerings, his body of work has provided material for an eclectic list of artists that includes Alison Krauss, Pete Seeger, Hal Ketchum, Emmylou Harris, John Denver and the Muppets.

The Grand is a nonprofit performing arts center on Main Street in Ellsworth. Built in 1938, it is a significant local example of Art Deco architecture with a prominent marquee and a stepped steel-and-glass tower.
