BAR HARBOR — Russ and Linda D’Alessio received the Acadia Art Achievement Award on the Bar Harbor Waterfront on Father’s Day during the Flash in the Pans Father’s Day Concert at Agamont Park.
In the mid-1960s, The D’Alessios came to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park on vacation. Awestruck by the natural beauty of the area, they moved to Bar Harbor in 1974 with their passion for the arts. Russ D’Alessio sold some of his original paintings and prints to local galleries while Linda D’Alessio sold her weavings.
Forty-three years later, they remain an important part of Bar Harbor and Maine’s art community. Russell D’Alessio’s works can be found at D’Alessio Gallery on Mount Desert Street and online. He also maintains a studio upstairs at Bayside Landing while Linda D’Alessio manages the gallery and its web presence. She also was instrumental in beginning Downtown Bar Harbor’s First Friday Art Walks and is currently chairperson of the committee. Visit www.russelldalessioart.com.
