Cranberry library art auction

CRANBERRY ISLES — The Cranberry Island library bi-annual benefit auction will take place on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 2-4 p.m. on the grounds of the library. An island shuttle provides ground transportation from the dock to the library on the Main Road.

The most rare offering of the auction will be a pen-and-ink framed drawing, “Two Pitchers and a Pot,” by the renowned painter Dorothy Eisner (1906-1984). Eisner, a summer resident of Great Cranberry from 1960-1984, was an outstanding female artist of her generation. Her work rarely comes up for sale.

The drawing is being donated by its owner to benefit the library.

Call Jane Barton at 244-3021.
