Somesville church sale and lunch

MOUNT DESERT — The Somesville Union Meeting House plans its annual Christmas Sale and Luncheon Saturday, Nov. 17. The sale, which includes crafts, balsam wreaths, homemade candy, raffle baskets and a cookie walk, runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu includes homemade seafood chowder, harvest vegetable soup, rolls and dessert.

Holiday food and crafts

ELLSWORTH — St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church plans its annual Holiday Food and Fine Crafts Sale Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature handmade gifts, jams, jellies, baked goods and a silent auction. Breakfast and lunch will be available, including seafood chowder.

Proceeds benefit the Heating and Warmth Fund of Hancock County (THAW) and the Ellsworth Free Medical Clinic. Contact 334-5495.


Guatemala program benefit sale

BAR HARBOR — A Holiday Craft Fair and Farmer’s Market will be held Sunday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mount Desert Island High School to benefit the MDIHS Guatemala program.

“This wonderful community event supports local artisans, farmers, producers and a unique program at MDIHS that offers students an opportunity to meet and work alongside Maya solutionaries in Guatemala,” organizers said.

Seasonal craft making for children will be hosted by members of the MDIHS Interact club for a $2 per activity fee.

Library book sale

MOUNT DESERT — The Northeast Harbor Library will hold a book sale Thursday, Nov. 29 from 4-5:30 p.m. Books, audio CDs and DVDs for all ages will be available. Call 276-3333.


Holiday craft fair

BAR HARBOR — The Island Arts Association presents its annual Holiday Craft Fair Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center.

The fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. In addition to booths with local crafters, the fair includes a raffle, lunch and bake sale.
