Swan’s Island: Auction winners

Congratulations to Peter Phillips and Sue Dwyer upon their recent nuptials. They were married on Saturday, August 11, and Gwen May officiated for the ceremony. May the years ahead be filled with lasting joy and song. Iver Lofving and Maili Bailey have once again been our hosts for Movie Night at the Library this summer. The last movie of the season will be on Friday, August 24, and will start at 7:00p.m.

Billie-Jo Riedel appeals to those who park at the ferry terminal: “If you park in the parking lot where boats are launched, could you please make sure your vehicle is well behind the yellow lines. We have had to launch a couple of boats and both times some of the same vehicles have been sticking out of the lines. Please be respectful and park behind the lines.”

Karen Preston Griffin requests the return of four black totes that were located near the hazardous materials storage shed at the Dump. The town purchased the totes for storage of small paint cans and other hazardous materials.

Carol Petraitis announces the winners from the recent library auction: “Christal Applin, you are the owner of a set of outdoor furniture. Wesley Staples, your bid won the painting by Gary Hoyle. Winning bids for John Bischof prints are: John Sather, now the proud owner of “Karl’s Wharf”; Sophie Cabot Black has won “Harbor Island”; and the family of Aby Milner got “Scragg Island. We raised $1,825.”
