Chowder Chowdown to benefit Island Connections



MOUNT DESERT — Island Connections’ second annual Chowder Chowdown for Rides Competition will take place at the Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 5-7 p.m.

Chowder, salad, bread and beverages will be served. Admission costs $10 per person or $30 per family (up to two adults plus children in the same family). Diners can vote for the chowder they like best, which will win the People’s Choice Award.

All proceeds support Island Connections’ mission to provide transportation to seniors and people with disabilities on Mount Desert Island and surrounding islands to enhance their independence and quality of life by utilizing its core group of dedicated volunteers.

The competition is presented by Machias Savings Bank. Additional sponsors include Maine Shellfish Company.
