MOUNT DESERT — Early registration for Camp Beech Cliff’s 2018 summer camp will open Friday, March 9.
CBC has introduced several new programs to the summer lineup. New Northern Lights specialty camps (grades 4-7) include a Secret Agent camp, a number of science-based programs and a weeklong performance workshop called “One Acts” in collaboration with the Acadia Community Theatre.
For those who thrive with smaller staff-to-camper ratios and gentler transitions, a specialty Adventure for the Differently Abled camp will be offered.
Pioneer Ways is a new program for traditional campers, who will make things that people now usually buy at the store. Campers will make butter, use hand tools to work with wood and have other hands-on experiences.
Programs in archery, swimming, and arts and crafts also are returning, as are many more.
Like last year, a 10-day “no rush to register soft opening” early registration will allow families to tell CBC what programs their campers want. Staffers will do their best to put campers in as many of those programs as possible. Visit www.campbeechcliff.org.
Anyone 16-years-old or older looking for a summer job is encouraged to visit the website to apply for positions as junior and senior counselors.
Camp Beech Cliff is a year-round nonprofit educational and recreational outdoor center that operates summer camp day camp for grades K-11 in Mount Desert.
