BAR HARBOR — The Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers, a Bar Harbor-based family-run puppet troupe, will perform “The Legend of the Banana Kid” at the Criterion Theatre on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 4 p.m.
The show uses 20 hand-crafted glove, mouth and rod puppets to tell the Wild West tale of Chucky, who rides into town on his goat, with a fistful of bananas, for a showdown with a gang of bandits.
“The Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers are a family and community favorite,” said Heather Martin, director of the Criterion. “It is always a pleasure to host them on our stage as they bring so much joy to locals and visitors alike.”
The show runs approximately 45 minutes and is recommended for ages 4 and up, but all are welcome. Tickets are $5 each and are available at www.criteriontheatre.org or at the box office an hour before the performance.
