Library hosts photography exhibit  

NORTHEAST HARBOR—From Sept. 8-30there will be an exhibit of photographs taken by members of the Mount Desert Garden Club on display at the Northeast Harbor Library. The display features photos by GCMD members and submitted to the 2020 annual GCMD photography show as well as photos from past shows.  

Each year, a panel of judges selects the best photos in each category. This year’s categories were Do You See What I See?, Blinded by the Light, Hungry Eyes, Mirror Image and Smoke Gets In Your Eyes.  

The club’s mission is to advance gardening among amateurs, to stimulate and increase knowledge of horticulture, to aid in the protection of native flora and fauna and to encourage civic planting. The club also holds a biannual Open Garden Day, which raises funds for many nonprofits on the MDI and beyond. For a list, visit
