BAR HARBOR — Bar Harbor artist Angela Soliz Franco is a mixed media artist originally from Tucson, Ariz., whose work will be on display at the Jesup Memorial Library throughout the month of February.

Much of her art is inspired by images and textures from her travels around the world. Her use of bright color palettes reflects her identity as a Chicana woman.

The work on display is part of a larger body of work titled “This is not a series.” Each piece of art is a conversation about identity and courage. The media used range from acrylic painting and embroidery to mixed paper and textile collage. Soliz Franco has formal training from Phoenix College, Franklin and Marshall College and Carnegie Mellon University.
