SOUTHWEST HARBOR — For the December holiday season, four artists will display their work in the Southwest Harbor Public Library.
Leslie Jones is a bead embroidery artist who creates her jewelry with tiny seed beads and a needle and thread. She also will have felt bird ornaments for the holiday season and tree trimming.
Jean Walton Goodwin will have her holiday ornaments made from discarded objects off the beach. Locally sourced shells, driftwood and old lobster traps are some of the materials she uses.
Beth Herrick of Beez will show some new additions to her popular black-and-white, scenic and pine cone pottery lines. This will include coaster sets and a variety of small serving trays, along with soap dishes and drawer knobs.
Beth Pomroy, also of Beez, will display her miniature “tiny worlds.” In addition, she will debut her intricately painted beach rocks, styled after aboriginal dot painting.
Any of their pieces would make a treasured holiday gift. Shop local and help support the library at the same time. A percentage of sales will benefit the library.
