Dennis Meehan to speak at ocean-themed dinner



BAR HARBOR — Local lobsterman and storyteller extraordinaire Dennis Meehan is coming to the next Pages and Repasts literary and culinary fundraiser for the Jesup on Saturday, Feb. 28.

“The Hungry Ocean” dinner – named in honor of Maine boat captain Linda Greenlaw’s best-selling book of the same name – will feature Dennis Meehan, known for his entertaining tales about making a living from the sea. He’ll regale diners at the home of Mary Ratner and Jim Mroch on Saturday, Feb. 28, beginning at 6 p.m., during the cocktails and appetizers portion of the evening. After that, settle in for a delicious fresh seafood dinner and great discussion about books centered on the sea.

The dinner is open to ten people, and the cost is $50 per person. Reserve your seat by calling the Jesup at 288-4245, dropping by in person, or emailing Melinda Rice at mrice@jesuplibrary.org.
