Saturday, Nov. 21

 

MOUNT DESERT — A Christmas fair will be held at the Union Church Parish House in Northeast Harbor from 9 a.m. to noon. The fair will feature homemade baked goods, Christmas items, greens, handmade items and more.

 

BUCKSPORT — The Elm Street Congregational Church will host its Christmas fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will include raffles, crafts, candy, bread, pies, a cookie walk, a white elephant table and fresh wreaths.

ELLSWORTH — The Union Congregational Church of Ellsworth Falls will hold a Christmas fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be crafts, baked goods, books, candy and white elephant items.

Proceeds will support the church scholarship fund. Call 667-3691.

 

BLUE HILL — The Blue Hill Consolidated School Parent, Teacher, Friend group will host its annual holiday craft fair in the school gym from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tables will include handcrafts, jewelry, quilts, soap, photography, wreaths, African crafts and much more. Refreshments also will be sold. There will be live music and a raffle.

ELLSWORTH — St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, at 134 State St., will hold its holiday food and fine craft sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Washington Hancock Community Agency’s THAW heating fund and the school backpack fund.

There will be local artists, handmade gifts, jewelry, pottery, glass, woven and knit items, pies, baked treats and more. There also will be a Santa’s workshop, silent auction and lunch featuring chowder and much more.

ELLSWORTH — The Church of Life and Praise will hold a Christmas craft fair at the Ellsworth Ramada Inn from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 667-5419.

 

Sunday, Nov. 22

 

BAR HARBOR — A Holiday Farmer’s Market and Craft Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Mount Desert Island High School cafeteria. The event will raise funds for a trip to England and Paris in April.

Frozen blueberries, local cheeses, pies, meat, bread, vegetables, jam, chutney, handmade ornaments, felted mittens, sea glass jewelry, wooden crafts, knitted hats, cards, calendars, wreaths, birch bark picture frames, pillows, aprons and more will be available.

A lunch of pork roast and vegetable soup will be served.

 

 

Saturday, Nov. 28

 

ORLAND — The Orland United Methodist Church will have its annual Christmas fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The fair will feature handmade crafts, candy and baked goods, wreaths, a cookie walk and a white elephant room. Muffins and beverages will be available in the morning. A luncheon of chowder and sandwiches will be served from 11 a.m. on, with takeout available.

ELLSWORTH — A Christmas craft fair will be held at the VFW Hall on Main St. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Whatever your craft, there is a table for you. To reserve a table for $20, call Kim Baldwin at 479-6912 or Gail McVey at 565-2447 by Nov. 15.

 

Friday, Dec. 4

 

BAR HARBOR — The Island Arts Association’s 41st Annual Holiday Craft Fair will open today at the Atlantic Oceanside Conference Center on Route 3 in Bar Harbor. Today’s hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no admission charge.

Forty-five crafters from the Mount Desert Island area will offer their work in a wide selection of media. Food sales will help support the heating costs of the YWCA of Mount Desert Island.

Saturday, Dec. 5

 

BLUE HILL — St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church is holding its Second Annual Christmas Marketplace from 9 a.m. to noon. Find bargains and treats to fill your home with holiday spirit and cheer. There will be food, crafts, greens, wreaths and gifts.

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The Southwest Harbor Public Library will hold its annual holiday book and gift sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hundreds of hardcover and paperback books will be for sale. There will be current fiction and nonfiction, including books on boating, cooking, crafts and biography. There will be beautiful coffee table books, as well as a special section of Christmas and holiday books, CDs and DVDs. And there will be a special section of wonderful books for children. Other lovely gift items will be available, including holiday table arrangements and cookies.
