“Garden Magic,” an acrylic on canvas by Holli Tarr, George Stevens Academy (GSA) class of ’88, will be on display at Bar Harbor Savings and Loan. The piece is one of many from the GSA permanent collection of significant student art that the public can view during bank business hours through December.

BAR HARBOR — Bar Harbor Savings and Loan will feature artwork from the permanent collection of George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill through December.

Bar Harbor Savings and Loan has recently expanded its market area to include the Blue Hill peninsula and surrounding communities and is pleased to share a sampling from the Blue Hill school’s student collection in their Bar Harbor office.

The collection was begun 35 years ago by art teacher Katie Greene to honor, preserve and exhibit significant student works. The art in this show is by students ranging in age from 15 to 19 and includes oils, watercolors, acrylics and sculpture.

This exhibit is part of a changing Art on the Wall display coordinated by Bar Harbor artist Nicole Herz and provides an opportunity for local artists to showcase their work. It is also a way for the bank to show their appreciation for the arts. If you would like to submit artwork for future installations, please email samples of your work to vendrell@bhsla.com.

The bank invites the public to stop by and view the student exhibit Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
