SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Maine author Cathie Pelletier will talk about her writing at the Southwest Harbor Public Library on Friday, July 10, at 5:30 p.m.
Pelletier’s journey as a writer began in northern Maine. She has been widely published, and two of her books have been made into films.
Pelletier’s critically acclaimed novels, which take place in Maine, include “The Funeral Makers,” “Once Upon a Time on the Banks,” “The Weight of Winter,” “The Bubble Reputation,” “Beaming Sonny Home,” “The One-Way Bridge” and “A Year After Henry,” her latest.
Aside from fiction writing, she also has been involved in the music industry collaborating with country music icon, Tanya Tucker and Grand Ole Opry legend, Skeeter Davis. Her original songs have been recorded by David Byrne of the Talking Heads, the Texas Tornadoes and the Glaser Brothers. A song she co-wrote with her brother was recognized as Song of the Year. She is currently working on a concept with Bob Guccione Jr., creator of Spin magazine.
