MDI High School virtual concert chorus

MOUNT DESERT— Mount Desert Island High School Concert Chorus is planning a virtual concert on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 6:30 p.m.  The concert will be presented on YouTube. The link to view the concert will be on the school’s website and Facebook page the afternoon/evening of the Dec. 23. 

 

 

ECMI resumes midday concerts starting Dec. 28 

ELLSWORTH — Ellsworth Community Music Institute (ECMI) welcomes concert lovers back with a new series of Virtual Midday Concerts starting Dec28 at 1 p.m 

The first concert will be performed by violinist Robert Anemone and pianist Choo Choo Hu, pre-recorded especially for ECMI’s audience. This concert kicks off a series of virtual concerts sponsored by Ellsworth Community Music Institute (ECMI) with funding through the Onion Foundation. Admission is free to the public.  

The program will include works by Beethoven, Boulanger and Szymanowski.

Annual cookie walk 

ELLSWORTHOn Saturday, Dec. 19, from 1-3 p.m., the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ellsworth (121 Bucksport Road) will host its annual Cookie Walk. Due to safety restrictions during the pandemic, cookies must bpreordered bgoing to the church’s websiteuuellsworth.org, and filling out the cookie order form. 

Boxes of three dozen assorted homemade Christmas cookies are available for $20 per box.

Virtual museum tour scheduled Dec. 17 

WINTER HARBOR — Schoodic Arts for All is sponsoring a virtual highlights tour of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on Thursday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. via Zoom. 

The tour will include an overview of the Guggenheim, from the earliest painting in its collection to works acquired in the 2000s. This program is designed to provide a sense of the museum’s history, architecture as well as its efforts to diversify its holdings across geographic, gender and racial boundaries, to reflect a truly global vision. 

The suggested donation is $20.
