BAR HARBOR — Ed Brown’s Wharfside Gallery, 78 West St., welcomes returning guest artist-in-residence Rod Busch beginning Oct. 1.

Busch creates nature portraits in watercolor, layering to play deep shadow against muted light. From birds and plants to the majestic beauty of Acadia and Maine’s rocky coast, Busch juxtaposes the frail beauty of life and color against a rugged looseness of shadow.

Busch’s work, “Cadillac Mountain: Season after Season,” celebrates the Acadia National Park Centennial, and Busch donates a portion of each sale of this particular work to the Friends of Acadia. Original watercolor and limited edition reproductions are available.
