‘Art Meets Science’ artists needed

BAR HARBOR — The Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory is seeking artists for the fourth annual Art Meets Science exhibit at its Salisbury Cove campus this coming summer. The 2015 exhibit, “Is It Art or Is It Science?”, will focus on works that are artistic, scientific, or both, and which reflect the research interests of the laboratory’s scientists.

The exhibit will be up at the laboratory from July 1 through Sept. 30. There will be an opening reception on July 9 and other special events throughout the summer. Applications to participate in the exhibit are due by March 13. Gilfillan said they are especially interested in applications from scientists who are also artists.

Ten artists whose work best meets the goals of the exhibit will be asked to provide up to four pieces of work in any medium ready to hang or display.

For application forms, visit mdibl.org/events/art-meets-science or contact Bonnie Gilfillan at [email protected] or 288-9880 ext. 106.
