MOUNT DESERT — Acadia Community Theater will celebrate its 25th anniversary Saturday, March 16, from 7-10 p.m. with a DJ dance party at Camp Beech Cliff Eagle’s Nest. The party will be prom-themed to tie in to this year’s spring musical, “Freaky Friday.”
All are invited to dress up in tuxedos (or tuxedo t-shirts), ball gowns, dresses or jeans and dance the night away. Appetizers donated by local businesses and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages.
“When we started ACT 25 years ago, we just wanted a place for kids to experience theater and to learn about the joy theater can bring to their lives,” said Mark Puglisi, one of the founders of ACT. “Over the years it has grown and we are happy to be able to celebrate our 25th anniversary with our community.”
Tickets for the event are $10 for adults, $25 for a family of four or more and $5 for seniors, veterans and children age 12 and under. Tickets will be available at the door. Proceeds from the event will fund ACT’s scholarship program and summer camp partnership with Camp Beech Cliff.
