The Juke Rockets to play Harbor Park



ELLSWORTH — The Juke Rockets will bring their high-energy blues to the Ellsworth Harbor Park on Friday, Aug. 14, at 6 pm as part of the annual Free Summer Waterfront Concerts series. The Waterfront Concerts are sponsored by the City of Ellsworth and produced by The Grand. Admission is free to all concerts.

The Juke Rockets are Ron Casillo on guitar, Carlene Perkins Thornton on lead vocals, Steve Mellor on bass and vocals and Tim Woitiwitz on drums and vocals. The band started in 2007 with Mellor as an original member, Woitiwitz and Perkins joining the band in 2011, and Casillo coming on board in 2014. Winners of the Maine Blues Society’s “Road to Memphis” competition in 2012, 2013 and 2015, The Juke Rockets represented Maine in the Blues Foundation’s International Blues Competition in Memphis, Tenn., in 2013 and 2014 and are excited to return in 2016. “The Juke Rockets” appeal to people of all ages and enjoy playing at events where children can also dance and run to the beat.
