BAR HARBOR — The 9th Annual Summer Organ Series at St. Saviour’s Episcopal Paris will be held on Fridays in August from 12:15-1 p.m.
The church features a 27-rank Visser-Rowland tracker organ and a historic Steinway grand piano. These instruments are used in worship services and to support community choral and instrumental performances.
On Aug. 7, Ann Sears will play Bach’s “Goldberg Variations” on piano. Sears is professor of music at Wheaton College.
On Aug. 14, Julia Morris-Myers, organist and choirmaster at St. Saviour’s, will play.
On Aug. 21, Ray Cornils will play. Parish plays at First Parish Church in Brunswick and is the city of Portland municipal organist.
On Aug. 28, Donald Ingram will play the organ, and bass-baritone Eugene Tobey will join him.
The Summer Organ Series is made possible by the generous support of St. Saviour’s Friends of Music. Admission to the recitals is by donation. A reception will follow to meet the artists. The church is handicapped accessible. Call the church at 288-4215 or visit stsaviours.me.
