BAR HARBOR — Candice Stover will lead a poetry workshop at the Jesup Memorial Library on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 2-5 p.m. Stover will present a few poems to read closely and explore, and those will be used as springboards from which participants will start writing.
Stover has published three poetry books, and her work “Holding Patterns” won the Maine Chapbook competition. She was a reporter at the Boston Globe, and her work has appeared in anthologies, magazines and journals. She is a lecturer emerita at College of the Atlantic and lives in Somesville.
Workshop attendees should bring their own paper and pen or pencil but leave their computers at home. A $20 refundable deposit is required to reserve a spot in the workshop. The $20 will be returned at the end of the workshop. Reserve a space at the Jesup front desk.
Contact the Jesup at 288-4245 or email [email protected].
This workshop is part of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), and the Jesup is also hosting a fiction workshop with writer Cynthia Thayer along with open writing times. Visit the Jesup’s website for more information.
