Hiking in Peru topic of talk

TREMONT — Maureen Ellerton will share stories from her recent hiking trip in Peru at the Bass Harbor Memorial Library in Bernard on Tuesday, June 30, at 7 p.m.

Ellerton has made three journeys to Peru in recent years, including her most recent this spring. She has hiked in the two deepest canyons in the world, climbed an Inca trail up Machu Picchu and walked an old unmarked trail from the Peruvian Amazon to the Brazilian border. Ellerton will share her unique experiences and her unorthodox traveling style in a lecture on hiking in Peru.
