Exhibit, sale inspired by Land & Garden Preserve

MOUNT DESERT — An exhibit and sale of original art by 40 artists inspired by the properties of the Mount Desert Land & Garden Preserve, ArtWorks! 2015, will be on display at the Asticou Inn in Northeast Harbor.

The properties of the preserve include the Asticou Azalea Garden, Thuya Garden and Lodge, the Asticou Landing and Terrace Trail and Little Long Pond and its surrounding woods, trails, and carriage roads. The three-day exhibit and sale will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, July 30 and 31, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 1.

ArtWorks!, a biennial exhibit sponsored by the preserve, celebrates the beauty of the gardens and lands, the talents of area artists and the historic role artists have played in the cultural development and preservation of Mount Desert Island. Proceeds from sales will benefit the artists and the preserve equally.
