Acadia Ukes to play in library concert

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The Acadia Ukulele Society is next to perform in the Southwest Harbor Public Library’s Family Concert Series on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 6:30 p.m. The group welcomes participants of any age, so feel free to bring along any instrument you like to play – no skill required – or just come to listen to this evening of musical fun.

The Acadia Ukulele Society had its origins in a Mount Desert Island Adult and Community Education class taught by musician Rick Barter last fall, who hoped to encourage ukulele playing, as Barter feels the instrument is easy to learn to play and quite versatile.

This is a great opportunity for families, friends and children to make music together. All are invited.

Call the library at 244-7065.
